ABOUT NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL SOCIAL WORKERS IN INDIA (NAPSWI)

National Association of Professional Social Workers in India (NAPSWI) is one of the largest memberbased organization of professional social workers in the country. Established in 2005, NAPSWI is a non-profit, non-political, national level organization dedicated to the promotion of the standard and status of social work profession. NAPSWI intends to promote the social work profession across the country with the aim of improving the quality of services in the social welfare and social development sectors on one hand and protecting interests of social work professionals on the other. NAPSWI has been granted a special consultative status by UN ECOSOC since 2019. NAPSWI believes in shaking hands with different stakeholders- be it social work educational institutions, government, non government, civil society or any likeminded person/institution with similar philosophy

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WORK

The Department of Social Work at The Assam Royal Global University is dedicated to developing competent and compassionate professionals equipped to address contemporary social challenges through ethical and evidence-based practice. The Department imbibes the spirit of the Assam Royal Global University in its accommodation of diverse students from all parts of the country, aspiring to be life-ready citizens. Their interest and ability to communicate with local communities puts them on the path of socio-economic development of the region. The department encourages independence, compassion, empathy, and resilience in its students through several significant academic and social entrepreneurial events solely driven by the latter. This conference would be an opportunity for a similar endeavour. The department combines classroom learning with extensive fieldwork, research, and community engagement to provide practical exposure and professional competence. With focus areas including community development, psychiatric social work, family and child welfare, livelihood promotion, and social entrepreneurship, the department prepares students for impactful careers in NGOs, healthcare institutions, government agencies, development organizations, and research sectors.
