Prof. Sanjai Bhatt, a distinguished social work educator with over 45 years of experience, has served at institutions like the Delhi School of Social Work (University of Delhi), University of Lucknow, MG Kashi Vidyapeeth Varanasi, Kurukshetra University, and Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya (CGV). Currently, he is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Social Work, BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Sonipat. Renowned for bridging social work education and practice, he explores innovative teaching methodologies, researches welfare and development, and collaborates with grassroots organizations. |

His interests include social work education, labor legislations, social security, trade unionism, occupational social work, decent work, environment, and people’s movements. Under his guidance, 40 scholars have earned Ph.D. and MPhil degrees. Prof. Bhatt has authored/edited 11 books, contributed chapters in 30 others, published 80 research papers, and conducted numerous studies for national and international organizations |

He pioneered studies in areas like the environment (1985), social advocacy (1997), participatory research (1995–96), occupational social work (2001), spirituality in social work (2010–2014), and social work workforce (2018). Active in movements like Chipko, Voters’ Education, Child Rights, and Street Vendors, he has received accolades such as the University of Delhi Best Teacher Award (2023) and Prof. V.K.R.V. Rao Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award (2017). |

A founding member of NAPSWI, Prof. Bhatt initiated the Indian Social Work Congress (2013), National Social Work Week (2020), and campaigns for social work legislation and school social workers under NEP 2020. He continues to advance the field through leadership and advocacy. |
