Prof. Keshav Walke, Treasurer

Prof. Keshav Walke is a candidate for the position of Treasurer in NAPSWI Executive Committee. He has done his MSW in CCA & MPSW and Doctorate and NET. He is presently working on the position of Professor, Matru Sewa Sangh Institute of Social Work, Nagpur. He was NAAC-IQAC Coordinator, Faculty In-Charge, Lifeline a field action Project for promoting Organ Donation and have handled many top ranking positions like Director, NSS RTM Nagpur University, Director Nagpur Childline and Wardha Childline Visiting Faculty for Research Methodology in Social Sciences, National level master trainer with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Sriperumbudur (Tamil Nadu) for Life Skill Development and Career Counselling.

Prof. Walke has served on many committees like Member - College Development Committee (CDC), MSSISW, Nagpur; Member- Exam Committee/Board for PhD Course Work, UGC-HRDC, RTM Nagpur University; Member, Board of Student Development, RTM Nagpur University; Member, Board of Studies, National Service Scheme, Barkatullah University, Bhopal, MP; Member, Zonal Transplant Coordinating Committee (ZTCC), Nagpur; Nodal Officer, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB), RTM Nagpur University; Expert Member, IQAC, Mahatma Gandhi College, Parseoni. Prof. Walke has served as Principal at Aniket College of Social Work, Wardha for two year, and at MSSISW as a Officiating Principal for two and half year. Besides many engagements, he was also the Course Director, ICSSR Sponsored 10 Day Training Programme on Research Methodology in Social Sciences and Course Coordinator, Six Month Short-Term Certificate Course in Social Science Research Methods, MSSISW. He was Conference Coordinator, MASWE International Conference at Bali, Indonesia, 2016 and Conference Coordinator, DATWA International Conference at Colombo, Sri Lanka, Conference Convener, ICSD 2018 International Conference at Thailand, and Conference Manager, Nepal Conference 2018 International Conference at Kathmandu, Nepal, Dec 10- 12, 2018 & Conference Manager at IIC Dubai Conference 2022 and IIC Conference Bhutan 2023. Further, he was Member of Nomination Committee, Asian Pacific Association of Social Work Education (APASWE) Elections 2017. Prof. Walke has completed number of research projects which includes a UGC-Minor Research Project, NEERI sponsored “Socio-economic Study of Rowaghat Area in Bastar District, Chhattisgarh”; UNICEF Sponsored research project on “Assessment of Juvenile Justice System in Jharkhand State”: Social Impact Assessment of State Water Supply System in Himachal Pradesh ; ICSSR sponsored “Impact of Tiger Reserves on Tribals Life: An Empirical Study in the Vidarbha Region of Maharashtra State”; TRI, MoTA Sponsored “Tribal and other Traditional Dwellers in Protected Area in India: Study of their Rights, Issues and Challenges” etc. Prof. Walke has presented 37 research papers in national and international seminar/conferences; published 13 research papers in refereed journals; authored book titled “Tribals in Tiger Territories of Vidarbha: Issues and Challenges”; written 8 modules for UGC, E-PG Pathshala under paper Social Work with Children and Child Protection and Community Development. His areas of interests include: Child protection, displacement of tribal people and their rehabilitation, rural youth and their role in community development, social science research, life skill development and career counseling.

On the professional front, Prof. Walke has been associated with Professional/Voluntary Bodies like National Association of Professional Social Workers in India (NAPSWI), and Maharashtra Association of Social Work Educators (MASWE), Dr. Ambedkar Teacher Welfare Association (ATWA), and Asian Pacific Association of Social Work Education (APASWE). He has also been awarded for his varied contributions with the Best Teacher Award 2013 by Shri Gajanan Maharaj Multipurpose Welfare Society, RTMNU’s University Level Best NSS Programme Officer Award 2013-14, “Best Case” Award in the Case Study Category in CIBM’s International Conference Mar 2015, RTMNU’s Best Teacher Award 2015-16, Maharashtra State NSS Best Programme Officer Award for 2015-16, Distinguished Researcher Award for 2018 by VMS Research Foundation in International Conference at Pattaya, Thailand, “Best NSS Programme Coordinator” Appreciation Certificate Award” for the session 2019-20 by Government of Maharashtra.
