Dr. Anoop K Bhartiya is an alumnus of the Department of Social Work, University of Lucknow and presently working as Professor of Social Work, University of Lucknow. As a team, he was instrumental in the establishment and running UGC’s Centre for Advanced Studies in Social Work and Centre of Excellence, UP Higher Education Council, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

He has provided leadership to the Department of Social Work, University of Lucknow as its Head for three years and many other positions in the Department and University corporate life. Presently he is also working as Director, Central Placement Cell and Director, Mahatma Gandhi Antarasshtreey Addhyan Pith, University of Lucknow. Prof. Bhartiya has been teaching social work to graduate, postgraduate and research students for over two decades.

His academic profile includes the publication of textbooks including Social Policy in India and having developed Self Learning Material (SLM) for Open Universities of the four states; published more than forty research papers/articles; guided more than ten research projects; and guided 16 Ph.D. students and 02 post-doctoral fellow. He was co-opted member of Learning Outcome Curriculum Framework (LOCF) for Undergraduate Course of Social Work, UGC, New Delhi, and was nominated by Government of Uttar Pradesh as member of SIA Committee such as Poorvanchal Expressway, LMRC, Lucknow, ATS-UP, Bundelkhand Expressway, Ganga Expressway, Defence Corridor etc. Prof. Bhartiya organized the 6th Indian Social Work Congress (ISWC), attended almost all NAPSWI led activities, and served as Executive Member in the last term.
