Dr Anish KR is an Associate Professor and a Registered Mental Health Professional with 25 years of experience. He has served as Head of the Department of Social Work at Rajagiri College and Marian College Kuttikkanam; Chairman of the Board of Studies (Social Work) of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kannur University, and Rajagiri College of Social Sciences; and Member of BOS of Sree Sankaracharya University and seven autonomous colleges |

His areas of interest are intercultural competence, social work education, mental health interventions, migration, and innovations in pedagogical approaches in higher education. He is a research guide at Mahatma Gandhi University. He has received fellowships and research grants from the Finnish National Agency for Education, Finland, DAAD-Germany, Australia India Council, World Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation, International Association of Schools of Social Work, UGC, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of Kerala, ICSSR, etc. He is a consultant to the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), NTPC, Habitat India etc. He also serves as the Vice President of the Association of Schools of Social Work in Kerala (ASSK) and Associate General Secretary of the Kerala Association of Professional Social Workers (KAPS). He was the founding coordinator of KAPS Skills Academy. He has authored/edited eight books and published several articles in Scopus/WoS/UGC Care-indexed journals. He also serves as an Editorial Board Member of Children and Youth Services Review (CYSR) and an active reviewer of journals Social Work Education, Indian Journal of Social Work, International Social Work, The International Journal of Community and Social Development Frontiers in Public Health, Ibrain, Medicine, Indian Journal of Health Social Work, Indian Journal of Psychiatric Social Work, and an advisory board member of Indian Journal of Social Work Education and Practice. |
