		Prashant Rakesh Chauhan is a Law graduate with Master’s Degree in Social Work from CSJM Kanpur University and his doctoral research is in the area of issues related to Child Labour. He has over 15 years’ of experience in working with Corporate Sector and National NGOs on issues of Livelihood, Health, Entrepreneurship, Women development, Human Rights, E-Governance etc. He is an expert of Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Development practice.
Prashant was born in Masuada Rice Research Station of Narendra Dev Agriculture University, Faizabad, UP of which of his Grandfather was first Comptroller. He is the son of practicing lawyer and his family is settled in Farrukhabad District of Uttar Pradesh where he grew up. He is married to Archana Chauhan and has one son and currently he is settled in Noida. During his graduation in 1999, he founded Youth Welfare Society, a registered non-profit organization for the development of youth and children in rural areas along with his six college friends. He was the founder general secretary of the organisation. He undertook and completed many projects related human rights awareness and protection, skill development training to youth, basic education to underprivileged children, women empowerment etc.
Prashant was associated with Draupadi Trust as a State Project Coordinator and implemented many projects related women empowerment in UP and Delhi areas. He served as a Project Manager with 3i Infotech Ltd and managed the E-Governance Project in the five Districts of Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh. He also served as State Project Coordinator with TSEI Ltd and undertook the Special Project of MORD, GOI in Uttarakhand. He as a Project Coordinator has also managed the Placement Linked Skill Development Project for the training of BPL youth in the five districts of Rajasthan a project of Federation of Indian Women Entrepreneurs (FIWE) Currently Prashant is affiliated with Amity Institute of Social Sciences, Amity University Uttar Pradesh as Assistant Professor Grade III of Social Work. He is Program Leader of BSW, MSW and MA in Development Studies and Coordinator of Placement Cell. His classroom topics in the area of Community Organisation, Corporate Social Responsibility, Human Rights, Social Work with Children and HRD & LabourLaws. He has presented research papers and also invited as a speaker at national and international conferences. He has also conducted as Program Coordinator many Entrepreneurship Development Programs, Faculty Development Programs, Workshops and Seminars on different social issues. He also takes sessions on NGO Managementand Community Mobilisation in many training programs/workshops organized by Amity University, VishwaYuvak Kendra, and VVGNLI etc. Prashant as Principal Investigator has also completed two survey research projects on Bonded Labour funded by Labour department, UP Government. He is Convener of Professional Social Workers Society, a club of social work students at Amity University UttarPradesh. Prashant is passionate about his work and actively associated with various civil society organizations and research Organisation. He is also convener of Uttar Pradesh Association of Professional Social Workers and member of International Association of Schools of Social Work.
